About DANIEL

ART SPACE – 1989

I’m a life-long painter, and while my subject matter has evolved, people who follow my work always identify new paintings as, well… Mine.

A signature aspect of my work is the single focus, frontal vantage point. I choose perspective with less foreground and then provide the subject a lot of energy. The composition is concise and bold.

Bold images are supported in my paintings through the medium of oil paint, pens, markers and pencils. The qualities of paint are the medium for the magic. I do not want to obstruct the paint as I feel the way apply paint to canvas is as important as the subject matter. I use paint to convey, build, and exploit an image’s intangible energy. I am grateful to live the life of a painter with the ability to capture images as witness to time passing, yet my paintings hold time still.
